The lead that goes cold overnight

A homeowner's AC quits at 9pm in July. They don't wait until morning — they pull up three shops and message all of them right then. The shop that answers first usually gets the job. The other two find out, if they find out at all, the next afternoon — by which point there's nothing left to win.

The shop

A six-truck DFW HVAC company, strong on the work and well-reviewed. Calls and web-form inquiries come in around the clock, but the office is staffed 9-to-5. After hours, an inquiry lands in an inbox or a voicemail and waits. The owner catches what he can from his phone at night; the rest sits until morning. By then some of it has already booked someone else.

The problem

It isn't that the shop is slow on the phone during the day — it's that most of the deciding happens when no one's there to answer. The inquiries that arrive nights and weekends are the ones most likely to go to whoever replies first, and a shop running on a 9-to-5 inbox is structurally last in line for them. What closing the gap looks like

The goal isn't to put a person on the phone at midnight — it's to make the shop's first touch instant, and keep a human in control of everything after it. A small piece that, the moment an inquiry arrives:

Why it matters

The expensive losses here are the invisible ones. A shop can be excellent at the work and still leak jobs every week to nothing more than a slower reply. Closing the response gap doesn't just win a few more of the inquiries you already chase — it lets you win the after-hours ones you were never in the running for.
